I saw this amazing British singer Kate Walsh on Conan last night. She performed “Your Song,” and whoah girl, she really got my estrogen flowin’.
Listen to the song on her Myspace. I’m also quite fond of her songs “Bury My Head” and “Fireworks.” She will play at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles 19 March 2008.

The Teenagers are here, and have two shows in Los Angeles this week. Tonight (22 Jan 2008) at The Echo and tomorrow night at Spaceland. They were also just confirmed to play Coachella 26 April 2008. Local favorites Mezzanine Owls are opening for them at The Echo tonight.
Hailing from France, they’ve just recorded their debut album Reality Check, to be released in the USA 18 March 2008 (digital copy for sale online now). Hit up their Myspace and play “Homecoming,” “Starlett Johannsson,” and “Sunset Beach.” (Lyrics unsafe for work.) If you’re not down, well, maybe you were never a teenager!
Mono Taxi is one of those bands I stumbled across on Myspace and I’ve been listening to them ever since. They’re from London and only have a handful of songs to offer, but I love what I hear and hope the drop an album soon.
Their song “Kind of Better” is what first got my attention, which you can hear on their Myspace. They also just unleashed their new song and video “The Sound of You”:
Electro kids, eat your heart out. My homey Sonic Tim dropped this one on me last night: “The Riot” by Dusty Kid, who is Italian DJ Paolo Alberto Lodde.
Play a sick two minute sample here as loudly as possible. The track is from his Signal ‘63 EP.
Apparently this new mix by Justice was supposed to be Fabriclive 37, but it was turned down by the Fabric-powers-that-be because it was too short. So instead, Justice sent it out as their 2007 Christmas card for all of us to enjoy. (Link expires in two weeks.)

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the new song “Time to Pretend” by MGMT, who hail from Brooklyn, NY. I stumbled upon the song at DKI’s Myspace.
Their new album Oracular Spectacular comes out 22 January 2008 and they are opening for Yeasayer (whoaaaaaaaa!) at the Echo in Los Angeles on 26 January 2008.
The boys recently performed “Time to Pretend” on Letterman:
